This is a list of the home media releases of The Magic Roundabout franchise that were released on VHS, DVD and Blu-ray, mainly in France and the United Kingdom, but also in different countries.

In 1994, the third and fourth volumes were released, along with reissues of the first two volumes, with at least the first volume receiving an updated cover. The third volume contains "Black Flower", "Special Convoy", "Toffee River", "Ermintrude's Folly", "Piano Moving", "Winds", "Lost Ball", "Brian's Voice", "Balloon", "Television Announcer", "Coloured Lettuce", "Dylan's Dream", and "Watch the Birdie".
The fourth volume contains "Taste of Honey", "Dougal's Experiment" (1970 episode), "Dylan, Hairdresser", "The Mysterious Beast", "Bubbles", "Washday", "Pancakes", "The Rain", "Le voyage extraordinaire", "Glow Worms", "Brian and the Train Race", "La guerre des valses", and "Watch the Birdie".
Also in 1994, PolyGram Video released 15 episodes from the original black-and-white series 1, possibly to coincide with the company's release of Pollux et le Chat Bleu that same year. The VHS, Pollux, Zébulon, Margote et les autres, contains "The Telephone", "Mr Rusty Meets Zebedee, "The Land of Flowers", "Dancing", "A New Friend", "Cactus", "Dougal's Twin", "Dougal's Tea Party", "Dougal on Television", "Photography", "The Safe", "Zebedee Starts the Roundabout", "Dougal Meets an Old Enemy", "Dougal Gives Florence a Surprise", and "Zebedee Disappears".

In 1997, volumes 5-8 were released, along with reissues of volumes 1-4 with updated covers. Originally, with the first four volumes, the episodes were shown together with cross dissolves in between, along with the intro and closing sequence being shown only once at the beginning and end of each tape respectively. The episode titles were also presented over the first shot of each episode. Starting with the 1997 releases, the episodes are presented individually with the intro sequence being repeated for each episode, along with each episode title being shown during said intro sequence. Only the 1997 reissue of the second volume follows suit to this format (with the closing sequence shots for that tape also being repeated), while the tape programs for volumes 1, 3, and 4 remain the same from their original releases.
The fifth volume contains "Painting the Roundabout", "Dylan, Sculptor", "Chocolate Soldiers", "Chimney Sweeping", "Captured Storm", "Ermintrude's Toothache", "Magic Pot", "Clock", "Land of Feathers", "Mushroom", "Jumping Competition", "Dylan's Bagpipes", and "Dougal's Glasses".
The sixth volume contains "The Scarecrow", "Hide and Seek", "Sad Onion", "Musical Box", "Cow Railway", both parts of "Glasses", "Road Signs", "Lost Boing", all three parts of "Mr Rusty's House", and "Dougal's Jam".
The seventh volume contains "Penelope is Lazy", "Dylan Theatre", "Florence's Party", "Zahara's Song", "The Oyster", "Land of Precious Stones", "The Marvelous Cake", "Moody Concerto", "At the Door Department", "Picnic", and all three parts of "The Rainbow".
The eighth volume contains "Brian's Twilight", "Starry Night", "The Orchestra", "Flying Saucer", "Relay Race", "Wine Making", "The Key", "Flamenco", "Baking a Pie", "Ermintrude's Vocation", "School for Birds", "Golf and Omelette", and "Let's Play at Cats".

In 1998, Une Video released a 5-volume collection, with each tape containing 8 episodes. These tapes were actually partial re-releases of the first four volumes of the AB/TF1 Video collection, with the first tape containing episodes from volume 1, along with volume 2 episodes being included on the second and third tapes, volume 3 episodes on the third through fifth tapes, and the first five episodes of volume 4 on the fifth tape.
The only difference is that, unlike the first volume VHS from 1990-1997, the first and second tapes of the Une Video collection present the episodes in their chronological order of AB Productions' episode list (with the 350 episodes from said listing numbered as 401-750). Because of this, the first tape presents "Dougal's Roundabout", "Chasing the Truck", "Dougal's Vacuum Cleaner", "The Visitors", "Parcels", "Stiff-Necked Heliotropes", "Dougal's Adventure", and "The Exhibition" in the order of AB's episode list (505-512). The second tape also contains "Soul of the Violin", which was not included in any of the 8 volumes of the former AB/TF1 collection. Also unlike the first, third, and fourth volumes, their episodes included in this collection are presented with individual intro sequences (although the first tape doesn't contain episode titles)
Based on all of this information, that makes 95% of series 2 in French released to VHS, leaving out the episodes, "Flower in the Sun", "Oil Wells", "Once Upon a Time", and both parts of "Ermintrude's Hat".

From 1998 to 1999, AB/TF1 Video released three additional VHS tapes containing the newer episodes by AB Productions from the 1993-1995 run, with each tape containing 8 episodes. Unlike any of the previous VHS releases, these were slipcover releases. The first tape, Rires au Bois-Joli!, released in 1998, contains "L'époustouflant soufflé", "Les savonnettes", "Le jardin tropical", "L'étrange caverne", "La barbe à papa", "La valise qui va mal", "L'aimant d'Azalée", and "La pâte infernale".
The second and third tapes were released in 1999. The second tape, Tournicoti, Tournicoton!, contains "L'éclipse", "Les pinceaux fous", "Le tunnel de la gourmandise", "Le coucou d'Azalée", "L'aspirateur renifleur", "L'ile mystérieuse", "Lait fraise", and "La pêche miraculeuse".

The third volume contains "Alarm Clock", "Brian and the Train Race", "The Chimney Sweep", "Road Signs", "Dylan Plays the Bagpipes", "Dougal's Glasses", "Hide and Seek", "The Lost Boing", "Windy", "The Scarecrow", "Musical Box", "The Oyster" and "Dylan the Hairdresser".
The fourth volume contains "TV Announcer", "Magic Pot", "The Picnic", "Ermintrude's Folly", "The Exhibition", "Holidays", "Relay Race", "Soul of the Violin", "The Tombola", "Pancakes", "Flying Saucer", "The Sleepwalker" and "A Starry Night".
To coincide with the release of the fourth volume, the first, second, and third volumes were also re-released in 1992, with slightly updated covers.
In 1993, BBC Video released "The Very Best Of The Magic Roundabout" that contains different episodes from volumes 1, 2, 3 and 4 that are "The Orchestra", "Dougal's Glasses", "TV Announcer", "Rustlers", "The Lost Boing", "Baking A Pie", "Ermintrude's Folly", "The Magic Carpet", "The Chimney Sweep", "Dylan, Sculptor", "Hide and Seek", "Pancakes", "Watch the Birdie", "The Experiment", "A Starry Night", "Road Signs" and "Dougal, Film Director".
In 1992, the Nigel Planer re-narrations of the episodes were released by PolyGram Video as "The New Magic Roundabout". It contains the re-narrations of "Alarm Clock", "Land of Feathers" (Dougal’s Hay Fever), "Mushroom", "Jumping Competition" (Sports Day), "Dylan Plays the Bagpipes" (Highland Games), "Dougal's Glasses" (Dougal the Novelist), "The Scarecrow", "Hide and Seek", "Sad Onion" (Cosmic Onion), "Musical Box", "Cow Railway" (Daisy Chain), "Glasses" (parts 1 and 2, "Birdwatching" and "Dancing Glasses"), "Road Signs" (Highway Code), "The Lost Boing" (Zebedee's Day Off), "Plans for Rusty's House" (Bad Post), "Building Rusty's House" (New Home), "Rusty's House" (Mr Rusty's New House), "Dougal's Jam", and "Penelope is Lazy" (Chivalry).
PolyGram Video's imprint 4 Front Video re-issued the volume in 1993.
In 1997, Channel 5 Video, now owned by PolyGram Video as a children's label, partially reissued the volume, but it only includes the first ten episodes from the previous VHS release, which are "Alarm Clock", "Land of Feathers" (Dougal’s Hay Fever), "Mushroom", "Jumping Competition" (Sports Day), "Dylan Plays the Bagpipes" (Highland Games), "Dougal's Glasses" (Dougal the Novelist), "The Scarecrow", "Hide and Seek", "Sad Onion" (Cosmic Onion), and "Musical Box".
Apart from the original film Dougal and the Blue Cat, the series itself has yet to receive any standalone release on DVD, but five of the original black-and-white episodes, including the series premiere, "Mr Rusty Meets Zebedee", have been included as a bonus on the second disc of the UK Special Edition DVD of the 2005 CGI film. The other episodes included are "Camping", "Perfume", "Jumping Beans", and "Rocking Chair" from March 1967. Except for the series premiere, those four episodes also feature their original French versions with English subtitles.

2005 film[]
France[]
In August 2005, the French-language version of the film was released by Pathé through Fox Pathé Europa. Bonus features include the French theatrical trailer, a montage of the film's French voice actors, the French dub of "A Magical History", its version of the "Magical Mysteries Quiz Game" where the difficulty names were changed to recommended age groups, bios of the film's characters and DVD-ROM content.
A collector's edition of the film was released that same month with a re-authoring of the first disc so it includes the original English dub with French subtitles as an option. However, most of the bonus features were being completely moved to the second disc, possibly to fit disc space. The second disc also includes features that were also included in the UK version of the 2-disc release completely subtitled.
In 2007, the film was re-released as part of 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment's series of re-releases intended for younger audiences featuring a green carry case. It was known as "Mon Petit Cinéma" in France and its purpose was to play the film instantly and in loop without any menus whatsoever.
The next year, the film was released on Blu-ray exclusively in France featuring both the French and original English versions. Most of the features originally included in the 2-disc version was also included in this release, including an option to watch the original version subtitled, however despite being sourced from a 2K English master, selecting the French audio track (or using the angle option) would show the credits in French sourced in its original DVD release, hence the low quality during it..
A couple years later, the Blu-ray was re-released as part of Fox Pathé Europa's "Sélection Blu-VIP" service where it contains a DVD copy of the film (in a plastic sleeve) as well as a booklet containing a catalog of Blu-ray releases from 20th Century Fox, Pathé, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and EuropaCorp along with a code on the back of it which can be used on the now-defunct 'Le Club BLU-VIP' website to earn points for merchandise for films released at the time (including, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Dragonball Evolution, Jennifer's Body, Fantastic Mr Fox, Avatar, Hot Tub Time Machine, etc.) (à la Disney Movie Rewards) .

United Kingdom[]
On 18th July 2005, the film was released by Pathé through 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment on DVD, as well as VHS. This release included the option to play along with the film via a "Magical Mysteries Quiz Game" in which, at certain intervals, the viewer would answer questions relating to what they have seen; Tom Baker would provide narration during the game. The game could be played under two difficulties; "Starter" to get the viewer started, and "Smarter" which was slightly more difficult. The film was later re-released on a 2-disc Special Edition DVD with extra bonus material that includes an inside look at the history of the original 1964 series, two making-of featurettes, five episodes of the original series (the English version of "Mr Rusty Meets Zebedee", and the English and French versions of "Camping", "Perfume", "Jumping Beans" and "Rocking Chair"), a design gallery, cast and crew biographies, theatrical trailer and a couple TV spots.
Both UK VHS (rental and retail) and rental DVD releases features trailers that weren't included in the retail DVD release, including the well-known "Piracy, It's A Crime" PSA, the subtitled trailer to Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra and DVD releases to Robots, Bratz Rock Angelz and Strawberry Shortcake (2003 TV series).
In 2006, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment released a 3-movie DVD pack that contains The Magic Roundabout, Chicken Run and Robots.

Netherlands[]
On an unknown date in 2005, Dutch film company A-film released the film on DVD. This release was confirmed to be single layer according to packaging, which results in major compression throughout the film. It includes two options where you can watch either the Dutch dub of the film or the original English dub with subtitles. Bonus features include a promotional featurette and music video of the film, which were not included in any UK DVD release, Q&A interviews with the English cast, present in the UK release, as well as the film's trailer, either dubbed or subbed. It has been noted that the trailer used is textless on both selections, most likely due to budget cuts. It also features trailers from films distributed by A-film, such as another British film from Pathé, Millions, the Dutch film In Oranje and the French film Les Dalton.
The film is rated 6 (the country's PG rating equivalent) by Kijkwijzer for themes of "Angst" (Fear), most likely due to various intense and dark scenes throughout the film, such as the fight with Zebedee and Zeebad.
It has been noted as well that the disc was most likely re-authored and re-issued at some point, considering that the print date on some pressings was confirmed to be in the year 2010.

South Korea[]
On January 28, 2015, the film was released on DVD by Korean video distributor, Video Travel. However it was not released on Blu-ray despite the company releasing films on that format. This release was barebones since there are no special features and an inclusion to watch the original English version subbed. As a result, the Korean subtitles included was actually "dubtitles".
The film on the disc itself was most likely sourced from a digital intermediate of the Korean dub shown in cinemas there, most likely due to it being cropped to 1.85:1 (to which it would be stretched to 1.78:1 for this release) and a bit of unnoticeable frame stuttering possibly due to a conversion from the film's original 24fps (same used from the French Blu-ray release) to 23.976fps (which is commonly used in many films).
Although the Korean dub was confirmed to be in stereo according to packaging, it is actually in 5.1 surround on the disc itself.

Hungary[]
In early 2006, European media distributor SPI International released the film on DVD to Hungary (alongside other countries such as Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia, albeit different authorings). Bonus features only include the theatrical trailer dubbed, the promotional featurette and all of the interviews with the English cast, both using voiceover. It also includes the trailer to the 2005 film, Hoodwinked!, a film released by The Weinstein Company who would later go on to re-dub The Magic Roundabout to become Doogal.
It would later be re-released by Gamma Home Entertainment in 2010 with different packaging.

Spain[]
In early 2006, Spanish film distributor Aurum released the film on DVD to Spain. This release features all of the bonus features originally included in the UK DVD release completely translated into Spanish, although the 'Magical Mysteries Quiz Game' was altered into a normal quiz game instead of giving you questions during the film, and instead of retrying the question every time you get an answer wrong, you will be skipped to the next question and would later give you results based on how many questions you got right. It also features the promotional featurette, music video and theatrical trailer that would also be used in many international DVD releases of the film as well. It also includes some new features such as a photo gallery containing screenshots from the movie, a sing-along to "You Really Got Me" (which is found through a hidden easter egg), a commercial to PortAventura World and a brief clip with the animators working on the film and recording sessions with Joanna Lumley, Robbie Williams, Jim Broadbent and Lee Evans.
Opening previews included in this disc are the "Piracy, It's a Crime" PSA and trailers for Howl's Moving Castle and Valiant.
There also exists a rental version of this release with alternate packaging.

China (and/or other Asian countries)[]
There exists an Asian bootleg DVD of the original version. The title in this release is called "Doogal: The Magic Roundabout", most likely due to it being sold across Asian countries during the American version's theatrical run. The disc itself is a re-authoring of the UK DVD with many changes including a major compression on the whole disc to fit on a single layer disc (despite claiming that it's a dual layer disc on packaging), change of video format from PAL to NTSC to fit with the Asian video standard, addition of a DTS audio track (which was extremely common on those type of bootleg releases), removing the audio description track, addition of Chinese, Indonesian and Thai subtitles and removing all of the special features. As a result, the "Special Features" button on the main menu will instead play the teaser trailer to the Pixar film, The Incredibles (possibly due to claims on packaging that it was a Miramax film, since Disney owned Miramax and having distribution rights to Pixar films at the time). The packaging itself most likely copied tech specs assets and MPAA and Canadian Home Video Rating System ratings from the Miramax film, Full Frontal hence the Miramax logo and similar barcode as well as having fake claims from other properties including that it was directed by Tobe Hooper, some fake reviews from Roger "&" Ebert as well as legit reviews of the original Magic Roundabout film's DVD release from only Matthew Turner.

Canada[]
Released at the same time as the DVD release as the American version, Canadian film distributor, Alliance Atlantis (in partnership with The Weinstein Company Home Entertainment) released the French dub of the original version exclusively to the Québec province of the country. Similar to the American release, it is double-sided featuring both full screen and widescreen versions on each side. However, possibly due to time constraints, the pan-and-scan version is mostly cropped without any panning effects despite an actual 4:3 version was made by Pathé for the film's UK VHS release. Bonus features only include a montage of the film's French voice actors and the French trailer used in the original French DVD release.
Opening previews include French trailers to Hoot and Hoodwinked!

Balkans[]
In late 2005, Greek film distributor Prooptiki released the film on DVD in almost all of the Balkan countries (including Greece, Bulgaria, and Romania). This release happens to use the pan-and-scan version that Pathé originally made for the UK VHS release instead of the widescreen version. As for audio, the original English audio is only available in stereo, and Greek is the only language that was dubbed, as the rest of the languages were only available through subtitles. The menus are also only available in English and Greek. Like the Korean release, this one is also barebones, as there are no bonus features included in the disc.
Although Croatian subtitles were included in this disc, the country had its own DVD release where it contained its own language dub of the film.
Considering that Prooptiki made three variants of their logo animation, this one uses the "Dance" variant.

Russia[]
Sometime in 2006, Russian film distributor Central Partnership released the film on DVD to the entire Russian Federation. This release came in three packaged versions, one in a king version of the Super Jewel Box case, similar to ones found on the earliest UK DVD releases from Columbia TriStar Home Video, some music DVDs such as Gorillaz – Phase Two: Slowboat To Hades, Demon Days Live At The Manchester Opera House and on the original German BMG Video 2-disc DVD release of Chicken Run, one in a standard DVD case, and one in a slim DigiPak.
Just like the Balkan DVD release, this release is pan-and-scan. Also, since this version only includes a stereo mix of the film where the center channel from the original 5.1 mix was given a stereo spread filter (which can also be heard when the film was shown on streaming services in the UK and on the Balkan DVD release), Central Partnership have to produce their own 5.1 mix where additional ambience sounds were added, to the rear channels to create a more surround sound experience.
When pressing "Фильм" on the DVD menu, it will first play a trailer to the 2006 Russian film, Волкодав из рода Серых Псов (Wolfhound), then the Central Partnership logo, and then the film.
Bonus features include a catalog of other films distributed by Central Partnership, one of which is Love Actually, a film in which Dylan's voice actor, Bill Nighy, stars in, trailers to Howl's Moving Castle and Valiant, both of which can also be found as opening previews on the Spanish DVD release, and filmographies of the directors of the film.
In 2008, Central Partnership re-released the film as part of their third volume to the "Избранные полнометражные мультфильмы" series. Other films included are Happily N'Ever After, the Spanish film, Gisaku, Felix the Cat: The Movie and the French film, Tristan et Iseut. According to the packaging and on the label, it could be possible that this release was re-authored to include a DTS track on the Russian voiceover. Although DTS was known to have a higher quality and bitrate than Dolby Digital, it could be possible that it was just a conversion and normalisation of the Dolby Digital track, resulting in confusion by some audiophiles, similar to the Asian bootleg release.

In mid-2006, Israeli film distributor and cinema chain, Lev, in partnership with record label, Hed Arzi, released the film on DVD to the country. The menus on the disc were directly copied from the UK DVD release completely translated into the Hebrew language, however the "PLAY FILM" animation is completely missing and they were shown in non-anamorphic widescreen, despite the film itself being anamorphic.
Only the "Magical Voices" featurette was included in the disc.
Opening previews only include a trailer to Hoodwinked.

North America[]
The American version of the film, Doogal, was released on a double-sided DVD on 16 May 2006 by Genius Products (under The Weinstein Company Home Entertainment) containing both the full screen and widescreen versions on each side.
It was also released in Canada at the same time by Canadian film distributor, Alliance Atlantis (in partnership with The Weinstein Company Home Entertainment) with the front cover being similar to the original English version. Bonus features includes a "Making-of" featurette and a theatrical trailer.
Opening previews only includes a trailer to Hoodwinked!.
Following the closure of The Weinstein Company, the home video rights of the American version are now handled by Lionsgate where it was re-released in 2021 with the Lionsgate branding replacing The Weinstein Company.

South America[]
Many countries throughout the continent of South America such as Mexico and Argentina are the only known countries to also have the American version be released. As a result, depending on what country you live in, the release would vary through both distributor and country where it was manufactured.
The only known detail about all of those releases was that at one point, there exists a 2-pack DVD released in Mexico that contains the Mexican release and the Studio Ghibli film, The Cat Returns.
